Hotel for Summer Activities in Nashville, TN

Updated: Sep 21, 2023

Join us at The Countrypolitan and discover why Nashville’s easily one of the best summer destinations in the country!

Of course, to be clear, Music City’s got top-draw appeal all year round, but the events calendar and roster of things to do in general really get extraordinary down the summertime stretch. Book your Countrypolitan guest room or suite today, and come experience the seasonal fabulousness firsthand!

Below, we’ll sketch out some of the possibilities when it comes to summer activities and event-going, but bear in mind it’s going to be very much a non-exhaustive list: There’s just too much to cover for one measly blogpost!

Summer Music in Music City

It goes without saying you can catch world-class music of multiple genres every night of the year in Nashville. But summer in particular comes chockablock with music festivals, concert series, and more.

The summer music calendar includes such big-time festivals as the CMT Festival (June 8th through the 11th), the lineup of which this year includes Carly Pearce, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, and Dierks Bentley, and the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (June 15th to 18th), which for its 2023 edition is bringing such superstars as Kendrick Lamar, My Morning Jacket, and Lil Nas X to Manchester, Tennessee.

The Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival (July 22nd), meanwhile, is celebrating its 22nd anniversary this summer, marked, as usual, by some awesome jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and funk.

And don’t miss such ongoing delights as Musicians Corner in Centennial Park, featuring concerts, food trucks, and more from May 19th to June 17th, or the Bluebird on the Mountain Concert Series up at Dyer Observatory (June 2rd through September 23rd), which follows up awesome music presented by the iconic Bluebird Cafe with telescope-aided stargazing.

Live Music at The Countrypolitan

Whether you are starting your night or ending your night here at The Countrypolitan, stop in to listen to our nightly live music performers. Grab a drink or even a bite to eat and enjoy the sounds of Music City. Check out some of our upcoming performers on our event calendar.

Culinary Festivals & Markets

If you didn’t know it already, Nashville is just as nuts over food and drink as it is about live music. Kicking back at The Countrypolitan, you could take in anything from the the Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival (June 25th) or the Music City Brewer’s Festival (July 23rd) to the Music City Jerk Festival (July 1st) or Music City Hot Chicken Festival (July 4th).

And don’t miss the Nashville Farmers’ Market on a Countrypolitan escape: Our hotel puts you a mere hop, skip, and a jump from this fantastic year-round market on Rosa L. Parks Blvd.

Outdoor Activities

Summer’s also a great time to hit the trails, the bikeways, and the rivers and lakes of Nashville’s backyard. Your Countrypolitan room or suite puts you within shouting distance of the extensive urban parkland along the Cumberland River, and it’s easy to jump on official city Greenways that add up to nearly 100 miles of walking, jogging, and biking opportunities.

And from nearby Radnor Lake State Park to farther-afield daytripping destinations such as South Cumberland State Park and Cumberland Caverns, there are plenty of natural attractions outside the city to explore.
